I am a rubbish blogger

25 Mar

There was a big fire in the neighbourhood on Sunday evening and I’ve only just found out about it. Anthony spoke of the top end of Fog Lane being cordoned off near Tesco yesterday, and a trip to the Co-op convenience store confirms that it is still cordoned off this lunchtime. I saw a Channel M van parked outside the flat earlier this morning and wondered what they were up to. I guess this answers my question.

All seemed fine when I popped out to the chippy about ten past seven on Sunday night. No wonder the fire took hold so well though, as the whole structure minus the steel girders seemed to be made of wood – an indictment of modern building methods? I imagine Tesco are not pleased either: presumably the spare parcel of land for development is planned to help offset the construction cost of the supermarket itself.

Sleeping through earthquakes and nearby infernoes. That’s me.
