Styal Line News

24 Sep

Good news from the campaign for more trains to Styal, which I mentioned in February. From 14th December, there are to be three additional services calling: a morning service to Manchester, a lunchtime service to Wilmslow, and an afternoon service from Wilmslow. This means that the train can be used to commute from Styal to Manchester in the morning, for an afternoon shopping in Wilmslow or Alderley Edge, for children attending high school in Wilmslow or Alderley Edge and for visitors to HMP Styal prison.

A very promising start – but the work continues in order to try and get all local services to call there, to open up access to Quarry Bank Mill and the Bollin valley. Come on Northern Rail, we hope you will be able to give us more good news in future timetables.
